On Tuesday December 6th, instead of the regularly scheduled meeting, LILNR is presenting its Swap n Shop. This is a night dedicated to swapping, trading, and purchasing new and/or used items.

We will be spotlighting various local Vendors who will set up tables selling, trading or swapping their wares. Not a Vendor, don’t worry you can bring an item that has been in that closet or toy bag way too long, and trade it for something else.

Description How do you get into the headspace of a submissive? How can the submissive communicate what they need to get from a scene or a relationship? There are differences between the male and female submissives’ perspective and how it is seen through the eyes of the Dominant. There are some very common mistakes that will not just ruin a scene, but ruin a potential partnering. Learn how to take control of a scene, both verbally and physically. We will discuss developing trust to keep play fun and rewarding. Learning to read each other is the key to successful scenes and relationships.

Continuing the policy which was begun last year by the LILNR Board of Coordinators, we are now accepting nominations, in person or in writing, to fill the member at large position on the Board.

We anticipate two openings this coming January. One new member will come from the floor by election, (if more than one person is nominated). This will be the member at large. The other position, by appointment of the Board.

Ideally, we, the Board, would like the number of Coordinators to remain at seven
individuals, the current maximum number permitted.

One Coordinator will be a “Coordinator at Large”, elected by the paid up
membership from the nominations sent in by them. The seventh Coordinator will be appointed by the current Board, as has been done in the past. This individual might also be chosen from the nominations, but this is not necessarily the case.

Following is the Criteria which must be met to be considered a Nominee for the
Board of Long Island Leather N Roses:

At least 23 years of age.

Current Paid Member of LILNR.

Consistent attendance of at least fifty (50) percent of the meetings for a
minimum of 6 months.

Actively participate in the organization, (contribute to discussions, setting
up, breaking down, present, attend functions, etc.)

Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment.

Any potential conflict of interest must be disclosed to the Board.

Be aware, nominations will be accepted from now until November 8th, 2011. Nominations may be sent in writing to LILNR_Coordinators@yahoo.com. Elections will be held on November 15th meeting with the end goal of seating the new Board Members by the beginning of January or early February, 2012.

For those of you wondering why you would want to go to a bootblacking demo, I was wondering the same thing the last time Jim Deuder came to visit LILNR some 5 years ago. Yes, Jim is an expert on boot and leather care, but more than that Jim’s demonstration opened up whole new areas of thought for me regarding dominance, power, control, service and submission. Jim’s demonstration was the beginning of my understanding of the power exchange dynamic and who is really in control and why. There’s much more going on here than just a spit shine.

Fire and Ice is one of the most sensual forms of play. This play is about creating varying sensations in and on the bottom.
